Hello, a friend of mine just gave me this APM 1 board.
the mission planner cannot connect or program it, I also tried with an USBASP on the ISP connector of both atmega2560 and 328 but the answer is always "target doesn't answer". when powered a red led is lit.
where can I start to look for faults? is it worth? I mean, if I can fix this board, will I be able to run all the latest firmware or is it already obsolete?

If it will help, here is a partial power schematic I made in October 2012...

There were two discussions (cannot remember when) about APM1 and no function.
Both problems were open pcb traces on the Output header into the APM.
Searching is somewhat hit-or-miss at times.
