Calculating COG

Ok, so, basic question, what's the most effective way of calculating or gauging your crafts center of gravity.

I want to find that point so I can balance my quad properly. I have an X style frame, so I would figure that, front to back, the COG would be the mid point between the front and rear rotor centers?

So I figure if I calculate that center point and take a line across to that point on either side of the frame, this would be the COG.

Am I correct in this assumption?

  • Thank you James.
I actually just realized that in my frame plates are screw holes in a circle that run along the longitudinal and lateral lines of COG. Should've noticed that before!
But, thanks for the info, still handy to know :)
