Can an APM be bricked?

I have an APM board that I just tried to get up and running tonight again after it was working but am now having issues. I updated to the latest MP and tried to download the code to the APM, it said it failed. Now everytime I try to update the firmware it says it can't detect the APM version. If I just connect to the serial ports I get nothing, there is no data on either CLI or regular mode. I can hear the relay clicking on the IMU and see that the TX light is blinking every so often when I try to connect via serial, but nothing on the RX.

Is it possible that the APM is "bricked" at this point and can it be recovered?

  • I was able to restore the bootloader using Arduino IDE and all seems to be better now.
