I'm using Mission Planner and have set a waypoint for my X8+. Is it possible to move to another way point a couple of feet away mid-flight?
I'd like to stay at the same altitude and just drift over to a new spot horizontally.
Can that be done software-wise?

You can set a new position in Guided mode to move to a particular position.
