Can't get Mediatek and autopilot to talk

Good evening, I just got my system set up but I'm having a problem with the GPS.  I have the MediaTek MT3329 and I'm running Ardupilot 2.7.  The MediaTek appears to have a GPS lock (the blue light within a minute or so goes a solid blue).  The shield (both blue and red boards) however blink blue even after a half an hour.  However, if I hook the FTDI cable they both go solid blue.  Additionally if I run the GPS diagnostics I show multiple satellites and lat/long/altitiude.  The last sign it is working is I took it out to where I fly and sure enough the 'home' location I get if I read off the plane is the field.  When I brought it home and tried there, the 'home' location updated as my backyard.

So first, the blue/red boards should switch to solid blue when the GPS locks correct?  If so, any ideas  on what I did wrong such that the autopilot doesn't seem to be picking up the GPS?  Thanks!

    @DH,

    Once you got the MediaTek GPS blue LED lock at the field, did you try a reset of the Ardupilot? That might cure your problem.

    Just a thought.

    No. Please read the manual. The form is:

    #define GPS_PROTOCOL GPS_PROTOCOL_MTK

    Did you select the correct GPS module in the ArduPilot config file?
