  • I guess I didn't take enough time to read your comments. I apologize for my "reading skills".

    solutions.

1; give the cx-20 more power at take off.

2: the cx-20 landing gear is just bad. you should mod it. ( but personally, I don't think this will work. Because I saw some people on youtube who still have the tilting issue with moded landing gear.)

had if these don't work, this means it has an accelerometer issue. calibrate your accelerometer and try it again.

oops forgot to download it and try the firmware. sorry about that.

And I guess you found the right firmware for your big shark cx-20.(congratulations)

and you are facing a new problem.(this was common to me)

Reading your comments I think you are having a gps unlock situation and that is really bad because you won't have rtl or rth

when your radio control got disconnected. ( As a result, you won't have any dramatic situations like your quadcopter coming back and landing where it took off automatically....)

Solutions. Warning. I am not a user that ever owned a cx-20, so I never tried these methods.

    1. shield your gps.  you will need a screw driver and some aluminum foil. to do this go to youtube and type; cx 20 gps shielding and you will find some kind people who uploaded how to do it.

    2. try to test it. remove your propellers ( or else it can fly away during the test) from your cx-20 and plug it with an usb cable and battery and arm it.Look at your GCS and try to find what's wrong.

( you should do this outside. If you don't have a laptop and have a desktop, you should try this closest open space, like a big window.)

hello, i got the gps take off working fine since i upgraded to v2..

my only problem now.. is every time or almost , i goto fly,, i have to recalibrate the remote,,, else it will tip over on one side.. the FAMOUS TILTING..but when i  recalibrate , it works fine.. UNTIL NEXT TIME..

Ii try to fly it again... ..i mostly use my hubsan 502s.. less headache

Think I found the v2 firmware for cx-20

    http://www.fly-shark.com/Product?id=SharkX&&Inf=Download#

if the link doesn't work, visit the fly shark's web site and go to downloads.

For addition, your flight controller is a factory version of apm, so the  GPS hold mode is actually loiter mode http://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/loiter-mode.html (do you have control on GPS hold or it just 'holds' your quad in the air)

so it will have low reactions. ( for example, if I make the throttle to 0% during the flight, it will fall from the sky after 2-3 seconds.

new.. good news.. i tired a new way.. i plugged in USB WITH BATTERY CONNECTED ON WINDOWS 10,, AND IT CONNECTED..then i used the shark8x file. but it failed and bricked the quad.. ..beeping continuously... i replugged battery and tried \cx 20 latest update text file.. and upgrade..it failed twice but on 3rd try it  worked.. ,,iYEH.!!!

I TRIED FLIGHT TOOLS 2..3 BUT it said to use 2.0.. .. it connected .. and i calibrated...,, DID MY DANCE... ,RECALIBRATED CONTROLLER.. NOW IT S WORKING AND UNLOCKING IN GPS..

in 3 second.  and working filne...

i am now going to try  flight planner ans see if it works...

     !!!!!!!

  • hello thank you for your info.. but i downloaded those files before which is  :SHARKX8 V2       the single file is named sharkx8.sfw,,, but i cannot get it to install ..no tool to do it..or see the quad...also  GPS HOLD WORKS,, IT holds the guad in one spot,, i tried the youtube test. ...hold it low enough to reach it.. the pull it with your hands,,, it will go back to the original position.. where it were before..so i guess its gps hold.. i can  move it. but as soon as i stop it in any direction it will stop..   and hold, but that is if i get it to take off in gps hold mode,, most times it  does not unlock,,

NO HANDS ..LIKE THIS   LINK ..ITS NOT MY VIDEO,,,

I HOPE  CAN POST THIS LINK,, HERE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS

one last thing.. every time i goto fly it.. i have to calibrate transmitter..

i dont know if by putting it in my car trunk . tilted or sideways  if  ,it messes up the compass or something ??? ,, it either tilts to one side or only 2 mortors spin, while the other 2 play catchup.. ,so i have to recalibrate radio, and it works again... ALMOST EVERYTIME.. before i fly it..

i just bought a DJI 2.. AS IS...real cheap  $51 bucks  from ebay.. to fix up.. i think i might have less stress ..,i just have to buy a radio for it..

and see what problem it has to fix .HOPEFULLY..

  • hello thank you,, i tried all those videos before.. ,but it will work,, and by the next time i try to use quad.. is either 2 props spinning,, or tilting .. i have to do the DANCE,, AND recalibrate  transmitter again , and again ,,

that sucks,, i have a hubsan 502s,,  all i do is do the same spin  around dance.. and fly,

cheerson, is always motors locked, take off battery and remote and try again,, and now fly normal,, but dont select gps hold,,

you will have a  meteor .. quad..

and another thing regular take off works on the lowest throttle.. by 10% you are too far up..in the sky like a rocket..  but in gps hold.  60-70% to take off !!!

maybe v2 firmware should fix it.. but i dont know how to get my pc  to upgrade it..flight tools 2.0 dont see my cx 20

stressed out.. IT ONLY FLEW 1 TIME ,AND RTH WORKED great.. after that.. .. STRESS!!!!

    ..

  • and also having 60 % throttle to take off is normal. you need more "energy" to take off.

I personally make the throttle to 100% and lower it to 50% to have a smooth take off.

  • Warning. I am not a user that ever owned a cx-20, so I never tried these methods.

    1. Calibrate your transmitter.t just type "cx 20 transmitter calibration" on youtube and watch the videos carefully.

as many users, this sometimes won't work then....

    2. The company cheerson (that made cx-20)  uploaded a video that the found the way to fix the arming problem watch it,

    and try it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7X79pknolbY

    3. Because the cx-20 has apm 2.52 inside, it works with mission planner! mission planner is a free software that works for mac & windows computer. using mission planner you can find what is wrong with your quadcopter and also unlock a lot of features! (but you will need the old USB cable or I think if you open the cover of the cx-20, you will find android (Samsung) charger port and you can use it to connect with it your quad copter to PC and find what is wrong . note(https://forum.banggood.com/forum-topic-23703.html)

    4.Buy a new transmitter.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmQvhuHJzBQ

5.If all of these fail, you should just return your cx-20 and get a new one, or return it and build a drone using apm (pixhawk). this will make you get more options to customize your drone and also will be pretty fun.

Enjoy your flight with your drone!
