Commercial Applications of Drones

Hi,


I'm a reporter with NPR. I am doing a story about commercial applications of drones. Is anyone building or experimenting with drones for commercial application?

Is anyone building drones in the L.A. area and would allow me to come and visit and interview you?

I've heard that some drones are being used for surveying wildlife, security surveillance, by divorce lawyers. Have you heard of any of these applications?

    Welcome to DIY drones, thank you for being open about your intentions to gather information on this growing area of interest, both for pleasure and the potential commercial uses, however could you please be mindful that posting across many forum & blog topics with similar content is not looked upon favourably.

     
    I see that Gary has already pointed you away from the USA for commercial application of this technology. In the UK you will require a licence to carry out any aerial work where payment is received, if you take a look at the CAA rules on this topic I'm sure you will see that there is a wealth of information, and may give you the opportunity to see where you may end up in regarding the rules which may be imposed by the FAA and other controlling bodies inside the USA.
