My name is Joe Ernster and I am an aviation insurance broker that specializes in commercial UAV insurance. After insuring manned aircraft for years, I began targeting commercial UAV operations in 2015. Since then, I have added over 150 commercial UAV clients to my books. These clients run the gamut from a single pilot operating a "prosumer" UAV to crews of pilots operating fleets of $100K+, multi sensor equipped, UAS. Many aviation insurance brokers have shied away from insuring UAS operations (they prefer the premium that comes with insuring fleets of jets). However, I am the exception to the rule.
