I use APM 2.5 and inbuilt compass and DO NOT use an external magnetometer.

In the mission planner, we have the option of enable magnetometer. Do I check it?? It has the symbol of the external compass. I am using in built compass only. It allows calibration in any case.

    @Shyam,

    It does not matter whether you are using the internal or external compass, if you want to use the compass on the APM2.5 you need to check the "Enable" box and then perform a compass calibration using the live calibration button. If you have your APM mounted with the pins up and the arrow facing forward there is no need to change the compass orientation.
