Hello to everybody,

I've got a problem with my APM 2.5 with both internal and external compass. I'm running arducopter 3.0.1.

When I go on CLI in test section, all the tests on the other sensors like GPS and baro works great, but if i go on test->compass the prompt does not respond and I have to restart APM because it freezes. I'm afraid something is broken or maybe is just a software problem... any help is highly appreciated.

  • After some hours  I realized this is likely a bug on 3.0.1 arducopter firmware; I tried external megnetometer, and internal again, I tried to upload again the 3.0.1 arducopter firmware. At last I uploaded the firmware 2.9.1b again on my hexacopter and on CLI in test->compass I could see again the compass working. So I realized it was not an HW problem. I recognized the problem when the 3.0.1 firmware would not arm the Hexacopter because of the pre arm check; so I realized something wrong happened on the compass. This was obviously confirmed by the bad behaviour of the Copter in loiter mode, moving away from the position where it was supposed to loiter...

    If it is a bug, can anyone point me to the right section to report it? Any help is appreciated.
