Compass_ofs settings in plane

Getting ready for my first flight and am not sure about the compass_ofs settings for the x, y and z axis to allow for metal in the plane.

My plane has very little metal in it? Do I set these to zero or is there some way to calibrate or will it self calibrate. Thanks.

    Hi,

    I think those are just the compass sensor readings in a hypothetical zero magnetic field(?).

    Anyway normally one has to do nothing, except check that the compass bearing is OK in the horizon in mission planner when connected to the plane on the ground. Try in different directions. The, holding down the plane, test that applying throttle does not affect the bearing significantly, again checking in different directions.
