I need to convert my plane to a UAV for a competition.
I need to take off manually, switch to UAV mode so the plane can fly a programmed route, then have it come back so I can take control and land it.
My plane is a nitro trainer with a 40 engine and 5 foot span. It weighs about 6 lbs. It has the servos, receiver (2.4Ghz 6 channel Spektrum) etc. all installed and I have a fitted 3 gyroscopes (1 on each axis) to stabilise it.
This is totally new to me so any help appreciated - how can I do it?

You probably wont need the three gyros, the IMU board needed for ArduPilotMega will take care of stabilisation.
