Configurator: Accel Z Axis at 445

When I put my Arducopter on the bench and connect it to the Configurator, the sensor values are all near 0, except for Accel Z Axis, which is +445 (the blue bar is all the way to the top). When I roll the Arducopter 90 degrees, the Accel Z Axis goes to 0 and if I turn it upside down it goes to -360.

Is this normal? Is there something wrong with my Arducopter? If so, what do I do to fix it?

I've attached an image of what the Configurator screen looks like when connected to my Arducopter.

    Er, yes. That's called "the force of gravity"! Remember that gravity is an acceleration (9.8m/s^2)

    X, Y need to read nearly 0 and Z needs to read 408. Adjust the acc offsets on the right of the screen accordingly and hit update. Last I checked this step is in the picture only on the wiki.
