I have a Mediatek v2.0 GPS module. Ardupilot does not seem to recognize the unit. The gpsstatus and satcount parameters are both 0, even outside. Is there a specific change I need to make in the code to make the GPS work. I am using the latest firmware.
Here is my current configuration.
My ardupilot is plugged into my computer via a USB cable.
My GPS is plugged into the ardupilot board.
The unit is powered via USB.
There are no other connections to external equipment/sensors.

Figured it out. My GPS was plugged into the wrong port. Not sure how I managed to get a 6-pin cable into a 5-pin port. Embarrassing...
It works now. :)
Have the same exact GPS. Yes it seems to fit better the side port :-)
But on which side do you put the red cable ?
I have this strange situation where red cable as first cable coming from the left makes the plug fit better.
BUT this is the opposite side from the new style GPS plug.
So... Which side ?
