Controlling Servos (With a side question on power)

Hi everyone!

Just started toying with the Pixhawk -- It's my first time starting to play with Drones and the like. I set it up as the tutorials mentioned -- I've successfully attached all the buzzer/button/GPS/3dr radio, and calibrated it via a wireless link to the radio plugged into my laptop.

The one part I can't figure out is adding the servos. I'm using Pixhawk in the plane setup, and I've plugged the servos into their respective ports on the Pixhawk. I can't seem to figure out how to get the Pixhawk to control them though. How do you guys go about this?

Additional side question about power:

I currently power the Pixhawk using a USB-connected Anker battery. I don't plan on using this setup for long, but wanted to know what types of setups are popular. Additionally, I think that one of the tutorials that I read mentioned using an alternate power source for the servos..? Not too sure, and also unsure if this is tying into my original issue as well.

Thanks!
