Hi,
During my last flight i had a bad crash as follows:
I was in loiter, and all had been ok up to this point, i tried to rotate on the spot , but instead the Hex did a circle (i cant remember what was happening to the heading) after another attempt at a 360 degree turn, that resulted in another circle, i then engaged RTL and it cam back to home and paused, then drifted on past home started pitching and rolling and then turned on its side and went in to the ground.
i have tried looking at the logs and can see some weird Roll and Rollin , and pitch and pitchin plots around line 6800 but dont know what caused them, since i am not very up on log analysis.
i would appreciate someone more knowledgeable taking a look at the attached log and letting me know if there is anything that tells me what happened.
the setup is APM 2.5
Arducopter 3.01

Log is attached here.

Thanks,

Colin

  • Hey Colin

Been looking at your log but someone with more experience will need to check.

The only observations I have , that may or may not be helpful are :

    1. This is unrelated to the crash, but your Low voltage failsafe is set too low for a 4S battery, at 10.5V, needs to be around 14V

    2. Your copter did not seem very happy from the begining, if I look at the FPV playback (attached)  Perhaps an Initialisation error?

    3. I presume you have checked your compassmot etc.

    4. Your battery started at 16.25V, and was at around 14.85V when things went wrong, and you called Loiter.

    5. Your RTL_Alt is set to 120, but there was no change in ALT when you you RTL'ed. That is weird.

    6. Your HDOP was not bad , mainly 1.4, with a spike to 2 around the home position, so I dont think it was a GPS glitch.

Sorry I cant be more help, hopefully Bill or Randy has time to check some more for you.

    Good Luck finding the Gremlin.
