Current sensor Problems.

I am hoping someone with a bit of experience can help me. I installed the RCTimer C&V sensor and wired it up as per the Wiki. I went into mission planner and went into Configuration, Battery Monitor.

I chose Sensor OTHER and APM ver APM 2.5 non 3DR. Typed 5000 into the tab on the right, Then I measured the VCC and put this into the APM voltage (was about 5.26 from memory) then measured the voltage coming from the input side of the C&V sensor (12.56 from memory) and thought I was set to go the flight data screen was looking good and I had a fly. When I installed a new battery the data was gone, Back to what it was before I entered the data . Do I have do do it every time I install a new battery or have I missed a step.

OK here is a couple of screen shots of what is gong on. First of all I go into the battery monitor enter the 5000 mah drop down the menu to other and non 3DR sensor. Enter the APM input voltage 5.26 which is my VCC. then enter the Measured battery voltage which is 12.44volts. I don't have a Watt metre but I measure the VCC with a multi metre and the battery voltage from the RCTimer on the input side

Then I go to the flight data menu and look at the Volt and Amps.
As you can see it look like its not bad. the amps move if I move the throttle and the voltage drops slightly.

Then I go back into config, Battery monitor and get this reading without touching anything and get this screen

If I then go back to the Flight data screen I get this

I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Is there a way to save the data you enter in the battery voltage menu ?

  • Another thought... is your APM the RCTimer version or only the C&V sensor the RCTimer version?

This is not totally clear in your post.

  • If the configuration change is saved into the APM, you should not have to repeat the process.

It has been a while since I set mine up on the first build but it is discussed in a blog post HERE.

You are the second person I noticed that has reported having a setup issue regarding this.

I will be going through this process with another build very soon and will be able to compare.
