Hi All not sure if this is the best place to start a user thread about the Iris but I thought I would give it a shot. I don't have a lot of coding experience but I do have some flying experience and hope that I can share some experiences and also get some help.
I received my Iris this week and took a pic. I know I might be behind the curve on getting things up and running since I and running on a mac and there is not a good stable ground station software yet but I can be patient. I would like to find out where I might get the info on what the tones mean that the aircraft make means. I think my transmitter is not full bound to the receiver. I get a series of tones and the message below. Thanks for a great product and I look forward to flying it.
Bob

Extremely excited. I ordered my IRIS last Wednesday. Got the shipping notification later that same day. Arrived in Toronto on Friday only to have a "delivery exception". The IRIS landed on my doorstep this morning.
That was pretty excellent turnaround time.
Now I'm going through the materials to get setup for a test flight.
One question for IRIS pilots, I'll be using an Android Nexus 7 (2013 ed.) for ground control and telemetry. Any preference between DroidPlanner or Andropilot? I'll likely test them both but curious if current users have done any testing.
Happy flying.
Well, mine arrived last night. 3 weeks to the day after placing the order. Good on 3dr for meeting their expected shipping date.
Sadly, I won't get a chance to play with it until next week.
Also sad, mine was lacking the coffee cup feature pictured above. :)
the lack of progress in these Iris threads is ... depressing ;)
For those of you that received yours, when did you order them?
Ordered mine last Wednesday. I'm worse than Calvin waiting for his propeller beanie.
I also got mine on Saturday, late in the day so didn't have much time to do anything. It was scheduled to be delivered on Friday by fedex but didn't? I have other units so have spare charged batteries. I have the dji phantom and the arduplane.
This thing is awesome!
So easy to fly, either manually or auto, as using my Xoom android tablet and it my Windows laptop! This would be my go to unit, as it blows away the phantom, and along with the arduplane it fills the void.
Will post more along with some videos. I had my twitter account suspended right at the beginning that I never even tweeted so wasn't anything I did! That's why I'm posting here instead of on Iris feedback site.î
Not going to lie, I've been searching several times a day for NEW news on this amazing craft. I honestly can't wait until the consumer edition is released, I've been following closely, and am super psyched you started this! (subscribed!)
