In the flight data tab of my mission planner 1.2.14 I notice that there is a verticalspeed value. Does anyone know how this is calculated, and if it is possible to data-log this information. Is there also a horizontal speed? Thanks

I'm not an arduplane expert but I believe that the vertical speed is calculated from the barometer. So it gets the last few values from the barometer and calculates what the vertical speed is.
the GPS reports ground speed but I don't know where we log it.
