Data/video linking from mega extreme altitudes

Obviously for very special locations and permissions, how would it be possible to send back data/video from altitudes of say around 40-50 miles? We are not interested in going into space, or even trying, but we are interested in going to a point just before, for videography and photography purposes. We would like to see a part of the globe, with the darkness of space.Control of the craft would be nice, especially at those altitudes, although an autonomous gps control would be acceptable. The craft is in two sections. One is rocket powered to launch the video craft. As soon as the video craft reaches its altitude, it will slowly make a decent shooting stills and video. Data and video must be in real-time, so although the entire flight may be autonomous, we can watch the flight through the video link live and correct anything manually if needed. We must be able to upload new gps paths, control the craft and see all data and video from a website. How is it possible to retain a solid data and video link, all the way to that altitude, without delays? Is it possible to control the craft at that altitude, without delays? What system can be used. Satellite, RF...etc...?Can somebody share some light on this subject please. I would be very grateful.

    Hi Martin,
There are few ways , least of which is direct RF using directional antennas , tracking softwares, using just few watts of power video/data signals are and can be transmitted reliably to that altitide/distance. Hang around and you will get quite a few feedbacks. There are few blogs/posts here which answers your question if you forage in this forum and other forums too. If direct ( as against RF relays via sat or repeaters , the latency is very low)Cheers
