This is my first post at DIY Drones.

I am building a small  experimental craft  that I plan to release at 10,000 ft...  whist skydiving  & am wondering if  it's possible to have the craft's  parachute deploy at a set altitude & then use Ardupilot to steer the craft under parachute to a given home position ?  The chute itself would be steered via two servos.  I guess I could even get away with a single servo for steering the chute since it only has to pull in an up and down motion.. then I could use the other servo to open the chute.

note:  I won't have the RC transmitter as I'll be busy in free fall....  so can Ardupilot operate without the transmitter ?  I guess could have a friend on the ground turn on the transmitter.

  • Did you find a solution for this? I am trying to do essentially the same thing, except mine will be deployed from a weather balloon.
