Hi Guys
I wanted to ask for your advice, I am trying to achieve 30km video transmission, can you let me know if the below options would be capable of 30km (Over the open ocean 500-1000ft AGL)- If not, what setup would you recommend?
RC Control, :
UHF Link (RLink, Draganlink, EZUHF)
IBCrazy 1.3GHz BiQuad Antenna (http://www.getfpv.com/ibcrazy-1-3ghz...tenna-set.html)
IBCrazy 1.3GHz Inverted Vee Antenna
I should mention that control is via RFD900+ modems, a spektrum radio used for landing when within range (1km) or so. Just to ensure the manual override can be engaged when landing on a listing/pitching heli deck. The RF design modems have proven to be exceptional - we have the flex antennas (2 - mounted vertically and horizontally) and a large Omni antenna at the GS (http://store.rfdesign.com.au/antenna...z-6dbi-omni-n/) - tested to 35km and it works very well.
So I'm thinking (For Video Transmission):
1258 800mw VTX
Ready Made RC VRX
PepperBox?
Range Video GS
DVR Recorder
TBS59 Camera (Backup Cam)
Could anyone with long range FPV experience let me know if you think this would be a good starting point?
Additionally, we may go to milspec if need be (www.rf-link.com) but it is very expensive and would prefer to try a standard FPV setup first.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations and help you can offer.

I test a patch antenna with 1,2 800mw a dipole or clover on the aircraft 30 kms and works fine, altitude was aprox 400 mts, as far you go as higher you need to fly, in my country the longest distance was 160 kms with a dragon v1, I try to find their post and share for you
Here what their used for 130 kms http://www.foro-aeromodelismo.com/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=24552 you can find other experiences in this forum for 30 kms, after this year there wasn´t regulations to fly fpv in our country so there are some long distance experiences the past years
Thank you Cala and Gary!
I doubt it very much, 5000' at 30km maybe but not 500' You can of course have an enormous antenna on the ground side of things to help things along. Watch out for GPS interference on 1.2
