Hello. I've been trying to get geo-fencing to work in my X-Plane simulations. I create the return point, draw the polygon, upload it, take off and fly to the boundary, and cross right over it. I expected guided mode to take over and the plane to fly to the designated return point and loiter. Is geo-fencing supposed to work in HIL mode?

yes, it works. I suspect you forgot the FENCE_ACTION or FENCE_CHANNEL. You need to assign fence enable to a channel, then switch that channel igh.
The reason a channel is needed is you need to disable geo-fencing for takeoff and landing. It would be very difficult to land otherwise!
Thanks for replying Andrew. I've seen the wiki page before, and on re-reading it now I'm still not seeing how to set FENCE_ACTION and FENCE_CHANNEL in Mission Planner. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction?
Ah, I see - it's right there in Configuration | Standard Params.
