Question: Mode switch: Does the code execution terminate when you switch away from auto?

I have the Modeswitch functions showing up in 'mission planer > sim' as what I programmed.

Manual, Loiter, FBW(A), RTL, Stabilize works fine every time its selected.(even if selected multiple times)

Selecting 'Auto' runs the installed mission code (which ends with a waypoint) so the end of the mission results in flying from the last waypoint to home (or launch) then circling.

Now it seems to only run once on each boot! If I select auto a second time, it seems to be still running hence is still circling the last final point (as if the mission code is still executing at its end rather that restarting)

Have I mis-understood this or am I doing something wrong? Ie is there a exit command required at the end of the mission code?

Any help etc...

    use the restart mission button.

or use the select wp box and button

  • Think I can clarify the question better now!

HIL code loaded, fresh boot, Start x-plane and connect, all modes functional.
If I switch to auto, the mission starts executing...
shortly into the mission, if I go to other modes, when returning to auto, it picks up the mission from where it was left earlier!!!

Once the mission is completed though, it will only circle the start/home position.
IE Cant restart the mission, only by rebooting the APM board...

After a reboot I can select auto at any time, and at any reasonably near location and  and it works first time.

It just wont repeat though without rebooting...

    I'm Stuck!
