Sounds pretty dangerous over there. Sounds like a perfect situation to use a drone :)

I'm thinking drones could be applied in the following areas:

* survey areas for lava flow

* find persons still in the redzone

* case livestock left behind out of harms way

* guide someone lost into safety

* do in-field assessment of the wounded and arrive with the help the need then and there

* monitor volcanic activity up-close and personal for scientific research

* deliver pain-killers / cheap filters and other light supplies directly

    I think there was a science team with a drone there. Or atleast there was a team near a volcano, might have been in Italy instead. Point being, people are doing this, which serves to support your post. Cheers.
