Hi. I have a company that helps out people with technology and security - I have an interesting problem I think you may be able to help with.
I have a client that has some private land contained by a 20km perimeter fence. He currently pays security guards to patrol and look for breaks in the structure.
Is the technology now at a stage where it is possible to design a UAV to follow this fence & record pictures at high resolution to check for any damage/issues? The camera will need to stay trained on the fence.
The UAV would return to the start and then the photos analysed with a comparative photo of the fence in perfect condition and then discrepancies found..
The UAV would be similar to a glider but with some form of propulsion.
Ideally it would need to do the whole flight in one go, or maybe two UAV's would be used?
