Hi! I work at a Dutch foundation that supports schools with the effective use of technology to improve education. As a Project Manager for the Innovation department I've had the opportunity to experiment with an ArduCoptor Hexa.
I see a lot of possibilities to use the drone in an educational (K-12) setting: for example, math, geography and science. However, it’s quite hard to find examples of schools where teachers actually have used it.
So, if you happen to know anyone who has a good example of DIY drone use in education: please let me know!
Thanks!

I have studied and discussed this issue with teachers (my wife is a teacher though Language Arts) and it seems the best fit for this technology is a supplement/replacement to the robotics units in their curricula.
Another STEM (US version) teacher was interested in integrating quadrotor study during the aviation portion of another course - Gateway to Technology.
When I first saw FPV, I was convinced it would be an amazing motivator for students. I still think so. If this had been around 40 years ago...wow.

Hi Erik,
We are just starting an effort here in Australia called DronedForSchool which is an open collective of a few people from EdTech and Educators here in Australia (currently) that will design courses for teaching STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts & Maths) related skills.
