Hi guys!
I just bought a cheap 7" monitor for FPV. Of course it goes to "Blue Screen of Death" on weak signal.
Could a minimOSD be used on the ground to just pass through the signal and it would resend the sync signal so the monitor would never know the signal is weak/lost?
Is there an even easier/cheaper way to do this? My 5min googeling didn't give me any good results...

Well, after some more research, I've found out that someone had already tested that approach and it did not work...

If I eventually find a cheap solution I'll post back here.
Hi Jon.
My couple hours googeling tend to agree with your 5 min...
As of now, the solutions I've seen involve broadcasting the signal as RF and tunning it in a TV with a receiver (not useful for cheap LCD monitors) or using a device to "Time Base Correct" the signal, which requires expensive (~$200) equipment...
Some also suggest that a DVR in series with the video signal might do it, but I worry about the delay and it's not so cheap...
But I do think you are onto something. Using a "dummy" minimOSD as a video regenerator might be the answer. I'd like to see someone that has it, try.
