Eliminate blue screen of death with minimOSD?

Hi guys!

I just bought a cheap 7" monitor for FPV. Of course it goes to "Blue Screen of Death" on weak signal.

Could a minimOSD be used on the ground to just pass through the signal and it would resend the sync signal so the monitor would never know the signal is weak/lost?

Is there an even easier/cheaper way to do this? My 5min googeling didn't give me any good results...

  • Hi Jon.

My couple hours googeling tend to agree with your 5 min...

As of now, the solutions I've seen involve broadcasting the signal as RF and tunning it in a TV with a receiver (not useful for cheap LCD monitors) or using a device to "Time Base Correct
" the signal, which requires expensive (~$200) equipment...

Some also suggest that a DVR in series with the video signal might do it, but I worry about the delay and it's not so cheap...

But I do think you are onto something. Using a "dummy" minimOSD as a video regenerator might be the answer. I'd like to see someone that has it, try.
