em406 GPS with ArduIMU ?

Comment by Doug Weibel on September 11, 2009 at 1:35pm
Will the software have support for the EM406 gps, or will I have tomake the switch now?
I'm wondering this same question, but don't see an answer.  I did put the em406 code from ardupilot into the older arduimu code, and it works (at least reading the gps).

Are there serious limitations due to the slower update rate, compared to using the ublox?  Seems it should work with the DCM algorithm.

I'm switching now to the current imu code in svn, and I see the 406 gps is not there still.  Is there interest from anyone beside me to include?

Thanks,  Dale

  • Now I remember, I wasn't just imagining / hoping that it should work.

I had taken the comments here http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/em406-dynamics-final
from Bill P. about the update rate being fine. and assumed it should work just fine.

And mostly, em406 is what I had already, and it seems relatively robust and sturdy.
