Hello All. I am in the market for a 3DR X8 but 15 minutes of flying time is pretty low for my needs. Is there a way to increase the flight time? Support has stated that this is not possible but I don't understand why even if I add batteries. I am looking to fly for 20 minutes minimum carrying about 300 - 500 grams of payload other than batteries. Any help would be most appreciated.

The only way to increase flight time is to reduce the ratio [weight / battery capacity]. Try to shave off as much weight as you can from your rig (even a few grams here and there could total a significant weight loss!).
You can also try to find better batteries with higher capacity/weight ratio. In that regard nanotech turnigy batteries are better than zippy's. Kypom batteries in turn are better than nanotech, etc

I'm looking to increase payload and flight time as well.
There is only so much you can do with the motors you have on your rig. I don't mean Your motors, I mean anyone's motors.
They all have limitations, and if you have already maximized your capacity, you need to look at new power plants.
When you add another battery it may give you more flight time, if the additional weight is less than the additional capacity of your motors and prop combination... but it may give you less flight time due to the extra weight if you are already pushing the envelop of your motors and props... and oh yeah, your battery choice as well.
It's a little daunting :-)
