I want to build a model of the spaceship Serenity. I built a model of the SHIELD Helicarrier from the Marvel movies with ducted fans and it flies with 4 fans in a standard X. I plan to do the same thing with my first attempt at Serenity. I am looking for ideas and flight controllers that support those notions for a more advanced model that can incorporate at least some of Serenity's tilt rotor (thruster) capability. The ultimate goal is a maneuver used in the TV series Firefly called the Crazy Ivan. A 180 turn executed by reversing the direction of one of the thrusters briefly followed by Hard Burn a maneuver in itself. Hard Burn would require an aft thruster or maybe some model rocket engines. Hard Burn is use to propel the craft into space or through space. I am prepared to start simple but want to see how far I can take it. The KK2 board looks promising for tilt rotor flight transitions and other mixing applications but there is a lot of different tech out there. I used a Naza-M Lite in the helicarrier and it should work for the fixed thruster model of serenity but the next generation model will need something more versatile.
