Where can I find information about the different firmware versions? Current I have all my 3DR radios with the default version and they work well. Is there any reason that I should upgrade the firmware?

Well, for posts like this, one has to wonder what you expect them to say. Nobody is hiding anything from you, as far as I can tell.
The firmware repository is public on GitHub, so if you're interested in following any changes they're right out in the open (https://github.com/tridge/SiK) and the documentation looks like it's up to date (http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/wiki/3DRadio)
We sure don’t get much support from 3DR on their radio – so many posts with 0 replies?
