Hello all,
I just recently started flying a quad a little more than a month ago (still working on my flying skills), but I have picked it up fairly quickly and want to move to the next level, building my own.
I have been scouring the internet looking for everything that I can find about building quads and it is a little overwhelming. after some searching I have finally settled on what I want to build and have ordered all of the parts (just a matter of waiting for them to all be shipped).
The following is what I have put together for my build and would more than welcome any suggestions or opinions regarding this. I am not going to set up FPV just yet but want to eventually on this rig.
Frame: Daya 550 Alien Carbon Fiber Folding from fpvmodel.com
Motors: Set of 4 Sunnysky V3508-20 580KB Brushless from ebay
ESC: Set of 4 Hobbywing Skywalker -40A Brushless from ebay
Flight Controller: Storm CC3D from helipal
Power Distribution Board: Hobby King board from hobbyking.com
Battery: Turnigy 5000mAH 4S 40C Lipo Pack from hobbyking.com
Propellers: Set of 4 1238 Carbon Fiber from amazon.com
Set of 4 9" 9443 Carbon Fiber from amazon.com
Charger: iMAX B6 AZ B6AZ Lipo Batter Balance Digital Charger from ebay
Transmitter: FrSky Taranis X9d Plus 2.4Ghz w/X8R receiver from ebay
Also a Tru Spin Prop Balancer from amazon.com
and I will be using OpenPilot (have downloaded and installed and reading all documentation now).
I can't wait to start but will be taking my time once everything shows up (should have everything by the end of next week, fingers crossed).
Will document as much as I can and try to post pics of the build.
Scott
