Flexipilot: data logging

In the manual it says:

"Onboard logging with fast download rates:
Using full-speed USB and data compression, you can download
up to 4MB of data in about 2 minutes. This corresponds
to 53minutes of logging at 8Hz rate!
Contrary to the solutions using detachable memory cards,
you are sure the data connection will never be interrupted and that
the communication will not stall even in vibrating, dirty environment.
You can but you don’t have to use wireless telemetry, as it could fail
to provide the data when the aircraft is far away and banked."

Memory cards and using wireless telemetry allows instant data logging during the flight. What abt using USB? Is the data only downloaded to the PC or ground station before and after the flight?

No Chris has developed very long very light virtual USB cables, they use the mini micro mice connector style (sparkfun #453627a page 76 of the catalogue) very clever stuff, but then having to stay indoors in all the cold weather produces such designs. I understand the airframe is potato based and runs on vodka.
  • Also when people talk about data logging, which data does it include?

    GPS waypoints? time stamped?
    roll, pitch, yaw?
