Hello, I just tested my very first Arduplane and found a strange behaviour when switching from manual to stabilize. When I switch from manual to stabilize and then move the plane, it does not do anything. It seems that it stays in manual mode, but in the mission planner I can see, that it has switched to stabilize.

When I switch further to Loiter or RTL, and then switch back to stabilize, it works as expected. So, if I switch from manual to stabilize, it is shown as stabilizie in the MP, but it doesn't do anything stabilizing. When I switch from any other mode to stabilize, it works.

What could this be?

I use APM1 and Ardupilot 2.66

My flightmodes are:

FM1: FBWB

FM2: Auto

FM3: RTL

FM4: Loiter

FM5: Stabilize:

FM6: Manual

My FM Channel is reversed, so that it starts in FM6 and ends in FM4 when switching a 3 way switch. The other modes are switched by 3 other switches using mixing.

Any ideas about that?

Kind regards

Helmut

  • Just did a little test. Reversed channel again and arranged the flightmodes in oposit order.

    FM1: Manual

    FM2: stabilize

    FM3: Loiter

    FM4: RTL

    FM5: Auot

FM6: manual for it is fixed to that.

So I can switch the flightmodes in the same way as before. Just loose 1 FM, for I cannot change FM6.

Now it works well. When switching from Manual to Stabilize, it works as expected.

    Very strange.
