Fly a Quad without the telemetry Kit

Hi guys !

I am working on a little project with an Arducopter Quad and an APM 2.6. I want to manually store a few waypoints on its EEPROM memory, and make it autonomously go and follow the waypoints, without any remote control. I didn't buy any telemetry kit as I don't need it. I'd also prefer not to use the APM planner (except maybe for the first setup). That's about it for my project :)

At this point, I've made the drone, I've calibrated the accelerometer and the compass, and I've skipped the RC check. But I'm stuck trying to make the motors work. How can I calibrate the ESC without the telemetry kit ? I tried to test the motors with the APM mission Planner but nothing happens. I also tried another way by using a sample arduino code supposed to make the motors randomly turn, but again nothing happens ... I just want to make the motors turn (that would be a nice leap forward ! ).

I couldn't find anything like this anywhere else on this forum, so I really hope you could help me !

Thanks a lot in advance :D

My config:

Ardupilot Quad

APM 2.6

GPS 3DR uBlox LEA6

3DR power module

11V,1A ARdrone battery
