I've never build a plane and to push myself a bit, so i want to equip it with solar panels. i'm studying airplane design and solarpanels for a quite a while, but i'm not sure what is best, foam or composite? and is there a significant difference? because i think building a foamy is easier, but composite is better. or maybe the fuselage out of composite and the wings out of foam, or other way around?

composite will 99 times out of 100 out perform a foam model, however yes manufacturing and/or building does require more work, and expense.
its ideal to do mix use composite for spars, joints,mounts and other critical high loading components then the foam use them as filler like wing ribs/core ans fuselage section. all composite is just too expensive so this is the only logical way to build it.
