Fpv for the land downunder

Not sure if this has been a discussion previousy, most likely but, any of you would know the best solution for fpv in Australia? I own a jdrones quad. Now that the code is much more usuble and stable i actually have the courage to have some fun with it i just know much where to start with it and what to get that is legal in Australia.Cheers, Paul.

  • I'm a bit of a noob. Would getting xbee pro 900 using with my turnigy frsky work and how do I connect a camera (what recommeneded camera) to do some fpv via mission planner on laptop?

    From my research the following frequencies and limits are applicable :

    All transmitters

    433.05 – 434.79 MHz  - 25 mW
    915 – 928 MHz - 3 mW
    2400 – 2463 MHz (aka 2.4GHz)- 10 mW

     

    But if you're using the telemetry you get a max of 1W on these frequences
    2400 – 2450
    5725 – 5795
    5815 – 5875 or 2W on 5795 – 5815MHz

     

    So if you're embedding telemetry data with video you might be able to argue that your FPV is telemetry are subject to 1-2W max rather than the 3-25mW max imposed on other transmission.

     

    Well that's my take on things.
