Hi All,
Recently I did loose my plane on a high corn field and spend 2 hours to find it. I was lucky my telemetry give me the last position 20 m away from real crash position.
Now I decide to use the fence options to avoid this happens again.
My TX is a DX6i and I want to activate geo-fence option on my APM2.
It seems to me there is not any spare channels (I have only 6) , since I do use mixing 2 channels for 4 flight mode positions.
There would be many solutions in order to have a spare channel (2 position option) for enable/disable fencing
1) - to use the rudder (yaw) channel, since as I understood, on Arduplane the rudder is not used on Auto mode. Maybe I am wrong, but this is what I did find that rudder is not used on APM2 for plane (just for copters)
2) - to use Mission Planer and telemetry channels, but this means to be always closed to ground station
3) - to use a second (old) receiver, but this also need to have 2 receivers with me.
4) - buy a new TX - limited budget...
5) - give up to multiple flight mode and keep just stabilize/auto for flying and for RTL, just un-power the TX... is really this a good option?
6) - mixing some other different channels, but don't know how...
Which would you consider the best solution?
I have intention to keep the actual DX6i for a while (limited budget) and in the same time use the APM2 with fence on my copter too (later)
Thanks,
Chris
