Hello everyone!
I'm an undergrad mechanical engineering student at UCSD and I've started putting a few projects together that would require a decent amount of knowledge about autonomous controlled vehicles. I do have some experience with creating autonomous robots, but I think it would be a good idea to create a basic full functioning UAV as a precursor to the more ambitious projects (could also serve as a physical "hey look i can do things" object for when I start looking for funding).
I've been reading up on the boards and guides and it seems like I should go with an EasyStar with APM inners but I am a little uncertain about the RC hardware that would be best. I want it to be able to carry the APM +Xbee setup and a gopro HD camera and if possible a bit more to accomodate future testing equipment. If possible could someone advise me on the shopping list I created for the RC portion of the project? (I'm going to attempt to learn how to fly, or at least not constantly crash, the thing first). Also I'm a little overwhelmed by range of chargers and have no clue which would be suitable for the setup.
