I have a 3dr x8 and bought a 3 axis gimbal for it. The gimbal came with bare power leads, I'd like to wire it up to a battery - either sharing the 3s 12v flight battery - or a separate one. The voltage should be ok, the gimbal can use 12v.
What kind of connectors should I be using and how do I wire this up?
And how do I attach the gimbal to the frame?

What's the dimensions on the top plate? I have the Tarot gimbal and I currently have it zip tied to the front of the copter. It fits nicely where the cutout board is on the front. I will eventually mount it to some carbon fiber tube off the front just so I don't catch the legs in photos or video when tilting down. (I've had custom 10" legs made). You may want to just take some carbon tube and using a drill press punch some holes in it and mount it to the front of the copter and then mount your gimbal to that?
Why do you need a 3 axis gimbal for a multirotor?
Should not be 2 axis enough?
Do you really need the Yaw axis for a multicopter?
I believe you need a control board to connect those motor wires to
