I honestly tried to search this and RCGroups forums but found nothing on this topic.

I know both Phantom and new Solo units got gimbals that are able to control advanced parameters on the GoPro using its internal bus rear connector.

I am looking just for a very simplistic feature - I want to use GoPro for FPV feed and record video at same time. It is already setup like that and works fine. I can control gimbal position with extra channel input from Taranis, all fine.

What I got stuck with - for some reason I cannot find at all what solution should be used to start/stop video recording while in the air with camera giving FPV live feed via its USB cord.

If it is something that indeed does not exist and is impossible to do unless we buy new 3DR gimbal they made for Solo - could somebody confirm?

Or if there is a well known aftermarket controller or cord that does this exact feature - could you please respond here as I for some reason cannot find it, at all.

It is not a big deal to set camera to record a video and start drone into air but I just want to get it done properly, as I did not expect such a complication with GoPro, on any DSLR it is rather a trivial function that can be done with a servo, but here I for some reason got stuck
