GPS Backup power?

Is it possible to power the GPS whilst not powering the rest of the board?

I see pin 4 on the MT3329? (I think its that model? comes with the APM2.0...)

is used for backup power, can this be used to power the board in between changing batteries or before flying to get a good gps lock. Or is there a pin on the board that could be used to power the gps on its own?

It would be very wise as the boot up time should be much shorter. I do have other systems using GPS and they all have a lithium battery powering the GPS.
