So i was re-flying a recent mapping mission with different camera settings, i lifted off, got up to about 20-30m and waited for the gps and mag to calibrate themselves. i checked my laptop to see how many sats i had, and whether the mag was pcointing where it should be, all was well. I hit the auto mode on my laptop, and off my quad went to wp1. hit wp1 no problems, off to wp2. 2/3 the way to wp2 i noticed on the telemetry that the quad started to pitch and roll violently and then it said gps error, gps lost, and then it basically started falling out of the sky. i switched it to stabilized and smashed the throttle and waited, hoping i would see it pop up from behind the trees. it did and i flew it back in stabilize.
my question is, what the hell happened to the gps? i had 11 sats, then zero. then right back to 11 seconds later. its like the gps module just stopped working altogether. im not seeing anything in the logs to explain something like power failure or anything.
i have a steadidrone quad rctimer apm 2.5 all factory from steadidrone. besides the camera mounted to the bottom. ill include the log from the flight.

Why did you get airborne to calibrate? The GPS can loose satellites in flight did you check before your mission what the sky was going to look like?
Sounds like you have a power issue on the GPS perhaps a wire coming adrift.
where i was taking off from was a very dense wooded area. with a small verticle window. on the ground i only had 7 sats with an hdop of 4. once i get airborne, the gps signal is way better and hdop drops to 1.5.
