When I do the field calibration, using the bind plug, the GPS Lock LED (the blue LED) blinks rapidly for half a second and then goes off and stays off. The GPS is a uBlox. In order for the GPS to lock using the field calibration, do way points have to be loaded onto the board? Also, like I said on another post, the Mode and MUX LEDs don't respond to the mode switch on my transmitter. I am using Ardupilot_V24 code.

Is this a problem with the board or the GPS? Also, if there is nothing connected to the control pins of the Ardupilot board, does the board consider that the three position mode switch is off? Because I had a problem with soldering the control pins on the board because of dirty solder pads(where the pins get soldered).
