I have been searching topics here for best practices for GPS placement. I have a Tarot 650 and the GPS is mounted on the top shelf on a foldable mount. I want to use a canopy and the GPS mount is in the way. Was considering moving the GPS with the mount over to one of the Arms using a Tarot clamp.
This would obviously put the GPS/Compass off Center. Is this good practice?
Any thoughts on this?

Off-center is fine for both the compass and the GPS.
The compass calibration should work out the offsets and sort you out on that one provided that you have the orientation correct.
The main issue that you will face is that the closer you move the compass to the motors, the closer the more it will skew with current.
For GPS it does not matter where you mount it as long as it has a good view of the sky.
