Hello,I am bread-boarding an APM2 to see that everything is working how I would expect, before I put together my air frame.I have my radio receiver connected to my APM2 board and all the controls work well in the radio calibration screen.I have now moved onto soldering up all the power for my motors, one ESC is sending power to APM and all of them have their signal cables connected. But apart from the initial power up chirps, I can not get any other movement or response out of any of the motors. They all work fine when I plug the ESC directly into the receiver (like you would with a plane) but not through the APM board. (all the motors have their props removed)Is there something simple that I've missed in the set up process? Thanks in advance! Much appreciated :)Marty.

  • I am building an octo but at the moment just want to try test it a bit as a quad before I go ahead and buy another four of the same motor/esc setups. JP1 is connected and the board and receiver power up on USB and without (solely from the esc)

Is there an arm sequence in every case. That sounds like the exact thing that I could be missing.
  • ArduPlane or ArduCopter?

For ArduCopter you have to 'arm' the system first. This is done by moving your rudder to the maximum right position for 5 seconds. See wiki for details.

  • Do you have power connected to the APM, other than from the ESC?

Either connect the APM to your PC with USB, or close the JP1 jumper on your APM.
