so my proposal is to build a light frame and use a generator/gas engine combination to power the electric motors.

I literally just came up with this as a hair brained scheme to some day lift heavy weight items with a drone, using a combination battery for main circuit/reciver power, engine/generator for prop power, and ducted props for better thrust and to reduce the drag on the props (rotors)

anyone want to help me work out if this is hypothetically possible, and if it has any power or duration advantages over just using a battery.
