Help with receivers/transmitters

So hello everyone. I am new to all this drone stuff, I've been playing around with little ducted indoor drones and decided to buy a king kong smart 100 100mm racing drone. It came 2 days ago but I didn't realise I got a plug and play version with no receiver. It is dam2, ppm/sbus compatible with little connectors already attached to the alien flight f1 board. My problems is I want to go for a sbus or ppm receiver. I've seen a receiver/transmitter combo on eBay for just under £30 but it only comes with a bind cable and j have no idea where to get the leads/cables from :/ I can solder if needed but I would still need the wires. Can anyone recommend a cheap receiver that can just be plugged in? I can upload photos of the board and connectors if needed.Thank you in advance.(I really want to test this drone out) at the moment it is just sitting in its box :(

  • Thanks for that, may be because mine was build and sent out to me, on the check list that came in the box it mentions nothing about the cable. Can those cables be purchased just as the cable. I have no idea what it's called or where to get them from. If I search for ppm or subs cables i always get the ppm subs converter cables come up.
    Thanks for all your help!!!
  • The unit should have come with a cable like this unit: http://www.banggood.com/Kingkong-NZ32-Micro-Brushed-Flight-Control-...

  • Mine didn't come with any cables, I will show you what mine came with. The back view there is a socket for ppm/subs and on the left back that says rx/to and the view from the front side is for DSM2 but I can't find cables online to connect them, could I just solder wires to the board if I remove the connection socket?
    Thanks

  • It's a Naze32 brushed flight controller running Clean Flight Alien F1 software.  Looks like it came with a cable with 4 wires which can be connected to sbus or ppm.
