Hex is only "stable" at 40' roll

Since my previous thread dried up, I thought I'd do some more testing, and see if the symptoms triggers any memories and possible solutions.

Got a hex running 3.2.1, with spektrum PPM receiver. APM 2.7.2 from HK but with 3DR GPS. All calibrations done, and everything appears to work. Accel calibration repeated mutiple times. All motors and ESC's work normally across full throttle range when in ESC calibration mode. Motor order and props orientation are correct.

I can arm, but the moment I get the throttle above 10%, the left motors fire up wanting to flip it to the right.

After some further testing, I found that it actually only wants to reach equilibrium in stabilise at about 35-40' right roll. All controls work - throttle, roll, pitch and yaw. Stabilisation appears to work too; pitch or roll it, and it will try to correct...as long as it starts at 40'. With full left roll on the stick, I can achieve stable, level flight in a hover. PID loop appears to work too - all symptoms of too high and too low settings are present...*if* you start at 40' right roll. I've even got a good tune for PID setup...


How can I check for issues with the Accels/Gyros? How can I apply an "offset" on the roll axis without adding trim to roll? It appears to be all it needs, as it all seems to working correctly apart from this.
